Weight gain!
When I took Alivia to the Dr to get her fingers and toes checked out they weighed her and she's already gained the 7 pounds she had lost before being diagnosed!
glad to see these blogs and creative solutions to the rotten hand we and our kids have been dealt. researcher magda havas in canada has found a link to radio frequency radiation exposure from cell towers, phones and other RF devices to fluctuations in blood sugar. I am very wary of using a pump with a meter that communicates with radio frequency. there is now so much of this in our lives we don't even realize that when we pick up a television remote or WII we are sending RF bouncing around the room. stay away from cell phones, microwaves, RF toys, etc. check out http://www.wirelesswatchblog.com
Love seeing those cheeks again! Jada, too lost a lot of weight before diagnosis, but we attributed it to losing her "baby fat". It was one of the nicest things about her recovery- she just looked so much healthier!
I wasn't sure if you found out about Alivia's spots but thought I would direct you to this blog http://welivewithdiabetes.blogspot.com/ She just talked about her little girl having spots too.

Wendy,
The Dr said she though the peeling was caused by stress. But who knows!
